Two thumbs up

Great nutrition app!!!

Great app for an everyday usage

Reading Dr Rob Thompson about low GL diet, I right away went to app store and looked for Low GI low GL apps. This one had the most exhaustive list of food with GI and GL other apps have mainly only GI with few GL. I like the color code system to identify a low, medium and high GL. I wish they can also display the load and index numbers not just a color. I like the Favorite food list, it is easy to create. I use Glyndex everyday, my blood sugar is now under good control and I lost weight .

Just an OK app

A too simple app that can be only used as a quick reference. It doesnt show the GI index, just some icons that represent 3 predetermined levels that are not enough to follow a strict diet. Recomendations: Make it to 5 levels and allow them to beconfigure by user

Great app

Nice and clean user interface, it provides a wealth of nutritional information and addresses the issue of Glycemic Load (an equally important and usually undervalued aspect of the Glycemic Index). To assist me most I would like the GI value to be included not just the traffic light symbol, a minor flaw - but hey, thats are what updates are for!

Good App...

However, Id like to see a much larger list of food items and more catagories. Hopefully, theyll keep improving the application.

Pretty Good...

Its probably the best GI nutritional app out there, but it needs some tweaking. The actual GI values need to be available. Also, some of the products seem inconsistant with other GI sources. Ive never seen any lists that approves of beets. And finally, maybe breakdown the nutritional values with an actual serving size. Ild like to see saturated fats and more specific details, in future updates.

I like the app?

I do like the app but I would like to see more foods on it. Also I am using on iPad.

Very basic - Excellent interface and could be fantastic with more items

Im new to glycemic index but I think this could be a really good application with the addition of more items. What is so hard about adding more items? I love the interface but the number of foods is seriously lacking. As the previous reviewer noted it would be good to have the actual values. Again, it cant be that hard to add items...show me how to help and Ill do it for free just so I can have a useful digital tool on the road or while shopping. AVOID the Low GI application

Needs some work

Good concept and easy to use but food listing very small and all mixed up in the categories. Breads were found in pastries and in cereal. Oatmeal listed twice both with different GI and GL ratings. No food amounts given with the food description. Many of the food item titles leave you guessing or force you to make assumptions as to what it really is Good start but a long way to go yet.

Not pleased

Very good concept, but info isnt accurate, as I have seen several numbers that were not consistent with the GI Foundation. And when it comes to such serious health concerns such as diabetes and hypoglycemia, constancy and accuracy are essential!

What???

I cant believe I shelled out $3.99!the food index is so small it would not cover most items. So whats the point if I cant find items? It would have been ok for free or $.99

Terrible

I can never find normal foods listed in this app! What a waste of money!

Glycemic Index food reference.

Glyndex is an app that can assist diabetics and anyone who would like to keep track of their glycemic index (an index based on a food’s carbohydrate and sugar uptake ratio). It has a decent amount of foods and beverages in its index, all easily searchable. They can then be added to a customized favorites menu for easy access. The app lists glycemic index, glycemic load, energy, grams of protein, carbohydrates, fat, and fiber content for each food. The interface is aesthetically pleasing and very polished. The food index could use more entries but there is also a convenient tab in the app where a user can make suggestions. Overall, I recommend Glyndex for anyone looking for ways to monitor their intake and improve their health.

Health app

Its an app that helps with all the info concerning the food u eat. Has quite a large percent of food people eat on a everyday basis

Must Have!

This is a must have app for simply everyone that wants to lose weight or eat right and keep healthy. Over 900 type of food are categorized and marked with glycemic index information, and the last seems to be growing. It is hoped that the developers continue to update the information in this app and keep it expanding as time goes by. Very easy to use and flip through to quickly find information about general food that are listed in several categories. Though a bit pricey at 3.90, this app is worth every penny!

Good

Great help if you are following a low glycemic index diet as it allows you to check all the foods which you buy or prepare. but still not enough listing, hope more to come.

Useful

This is a very useful app. The "favorites" section is really nice and works well. I entered my favorite meals or foods there and its easy for me to remember. A worthwhile program overall.
